Lecture on the topic: “Exposure of RC structures to modern urban environments and traffic infrastructure, European standards and practices for protection of concrete structures”

On 15.11.2018, ADING in cooperation with the Chamber of Certified Architects and Certified Engineers of the Republic of Macedonia held an expert lecture on the topic “Exposure of RC structures to modern urban environments and traffic infrastructure, European standards and practices for protection of concrete structures” at the premises of the Chamber.

The first part of the lecture covered the most common causes of damage to RC structures, and included a classification of damages through current examples where structures are exposed to atmospheric impacts, physical impacts, chemical impacts and other causes of damage.

The second part of the lecture covered the most contemporary European standards on protection of structures, as well as the materials and systems for protection of RC structure and measures for protection and increase of durability of RC structures in urban areas and road infrastructure facilities.

The lecture was attended by civil engineers and designer architects, contractors and supervisors who encounter the same or similar problems in their everyday work. One of the objectives of the lecture was to facilitate the process of finding adequate solutions.

The expert lecture was moderated and delivered by Daniel Cekov and Nikola Uzunov from the Department of Technical Application and Sales of our company, engineers with long-running experience in this problem area.
