Epoxy flooring systems

Epoxy floors are a widely accepted solution for the final layer of floor surfaces. They have excellent adhesion to concrete substrates, high compressive strength, and outstanding wear-and-tear resistance. They are chemically resistant to acids, alkalis, solvents, and petroleum derivatives, and are non-toxic in their cured state. Since they are monolithic, they fully comply with the requirements of the HACCP system standards. They remain stable across a wide temperature range, from –40°C to +70°C.

Epoxy flooring systems have a wide range of applications as floor finishing in warehouses, garages, parking areas, production facilities for both light and heavy industry, hospitals, kitchens, cold storage rooms, laboratories, schools, shopping centers, sports centres, auto repair shops, and computer centers. In recent years, they have increasingly been used as decorative finishing floors in residential spaces as well. The various finishing options allow their use in facilities where floors form an integral part of the architectural concept of the space.

For the proper application of epoxy floors:

First and foremost, a high-quality concrete substrate is required. It must be at least 28 days old, with the hydration process fully completed, a minimum compressive strength of MB30, and a maximum moisture content of 5%. The substrate must be level, free of segregation and cement laitance, and properly waterproofed – protected against capillary moisture penetration from below. The optimal substrate temperature during application is in the range of +10°C to +30°C.

As part of its product range, ADING offers several established epoxy flooring systems:

ADINGPOKS 1BP

Two-component epoxy coating for final protective and decorative finishing of floor surfaces, offering excellent adhesion to various substrates (concrete, cement mortar, or steel), high resistance to abrasion and bacterial growth, easy application, and simple maintenance. Available in a wide range of colors according to the color chart, it provides an excellent aesthetic finish. By adding fillers of various grain sizes or decorative chips, different levels of slip resistance can be achieved.

Application method: On the concrete substrate to be treated, a primer coat of ADINGPOKS 1P or 1PV should be applied. The application is carried out using a woollen roller, thoroughly working the material into the surface.

The material is prepared by mixing component A with a slow-speed electric mixer, after which component B is added. The mixture is stirred until complete homogenization. Application is performed using a brush, roller, or by spraying, in two coats. The second coat of ADINGPOKS 1BP is applied after the first coat has fully cured, approximately 24 hours after application, at a temperature between 10°C and 30°C, and with a substrate moisture content below 7%. It is recommended to apply at least two coats.

ADINGPOKS 2

Self-leveling epoxy flooring system which, depending on the intended use, required slip resistance, and load conditions, can be applied in several system variations. It has excellent adhesion to various types of substrates, good resistance to diluted acids, salt solutions, and mineral oils, is easy to apply, and suitable for simple maintenance. Available in a wide range of colors according to the color chart, it provides an excellent aesthetic finish. By adding fillers, different levels of slip resistance can be achieved.

Application method: The prepared substrate is primed with ADINGPOKS 1P or 1PV, thoroughly working the primer into the surface using a woollen roller. Before mixing the material, component A should be stirred with a slow-speed electric mixer, after which component B is added and mixed until complete homogenization is achieved. To achieve greater floor thickness, increased abrasion resistance, and improved physical and mechanical properties, it is recommended to add component C of ADINGPOKS 2 to the mixed quantity of components A and B.

To achieve greater floor thickness, increased abrasion resistance, and improved physical and mechanical properties, it is recommended to add component C of ADINGPOKS 2 to the mixed quantity of components A and B.

The quantity of material prepared for mixing should correspond to the open working time of the product. The application is performed using a notched trowel, after which the applied layer is treated with a spiked roller to remove any trapped air from the epoxy coating. The treatment of the applied surface should be carried out within 15-20 minutes after application. The substrate and ambient temperatures should be between 10°C and 30°C.

ADINGSTATIK 1

Electrostatic and chemically resistant epoxy coating designed for areas where static electricity is generated, intended for grounding and discharge control. Resistant under conditions of high chemical aggression. It is used in production halls for electronic equipment, computer centers, laboratories, operating rooms, electronic laboratories, manufacturing plants and warehouses for paints, varnishes, and solvents, chemically aggressive materials, as well as in production facilities and storage areas for explosive and flammable materials, and similar environments.

Application method: On the prepared substrate, which should be primed with ADINGPOKS 1P or 1PV, copper tapes are placed and bonded in a frame along the edges of the area and continuously laid in several directions across the surface. The ends of the copper tapes are then connected to the grounding system. After placing the copper tapes, a black conductive primer ADINGSTATIK SP is applied. Before application, the two components should be mixed with a slow-speed electric mixer until complete homogenization is achieved. The application of ADINGSTATIK 1 is carried out manually using a woollen roller. During application, the substrate and ambient temperatures should be within the range of 10°C to 30°C, with air humidity below 70%.

ADINGSTATIK 2

Electrically conductive and self-leveling epoxy system designed for areas where static electricity is generated, intended for grounding and discharge control. It is used in production halls for electronic equipment, computer centers, operating rooms, electronic laboratories, manufacturing plants and warehouses for paints, varnishes, and solvents, as well as in production and storage facilities for explosive and flammable materials, and similar environments. It has excellent adhesion to various types of substrates, high abrasion and bacterial resistance, is easy to apply, and simple to maintain.

Application method: On the prepared substrate, which should be primed with ADINGPOKS 1P or 1PV, copper tapes are installed and bonded to form a grid pattern of 0.50 × 0.50 m, with the ends of the copper tapes connected to the grounding system. After placing the copper tapes, a black conductive primer ADINGSTATIК SP is applied. Before application, the two components are mixed with a slow-speed electric mixer until complete homogenization is achieved. The application is performed using a notched trowel. The applied material is then treated with a spiked roller to release any trapped air within the coating. The substrate and ambient temperatures should be within the range of 10°C to 30°C, with air humidity below 70%.
